Bovilla Lake (Liqeni i Bovillës)

Liqeni i Bovillës — turquoise water an hour from Tirana.

A turquoise reservoir in the mountains of Dajti National Park, about 14 km north-east of Tirana as the crow flies. It supplies most of Tirana's drinking water. The classic visit is the short climb to the viewpoint on Gamti mountain above the lake, followed by lunch with a view.

The last stretch of road is narrow and rough, so drive carefully; a higher car helps.
Navigation apps can send you to the wrong side of the lake. Navigate to Bovilla Restaurant instead.
Bring water and good shoes for the viewpoint climb.
