New winter flights to Prishtina and Tirana, 2026–27: every route, checked

If you live in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the UK or Sweden, flying home gets easier this winter. Below is every new direct route we could find, with the start date and flying days exactly as the airline or airport announced them. We read each page on 26 October 2026. Anything we could only find in trade press is marked Estimate. Fares are left out on purpose: the launch prices were promotions and have changed.

Sources: Köln Bonn Airport (Cologne/Bonn), Wizz Air (Basel, Karlsruhe, Charleroi, Dortmund), easyJet (Luton), Hahn Airport, Hamburg Airport and Swedavia (Malmö), all read on 26 Oct 2026. Berlin is from trade press only. 'Days may be cut': in October, trade press reported that Hamburg and Malmö will run twice a week instead of the announced four and three.

Cologne/Bonn – Tirana: Köln Bonn Airport says Ryanair is flying to Tirana for the first time, up to five times a week, from 25 October (press release, 9 October 2026). It is in the airport's winter timetable.

Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden and Dortmund – Prishtina: Wizz Air's own release (29 July 2026) lists Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden from 16 November on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and Dortmund up from three to five flights a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in winter.

Frankfurt-Hahn – Prishtina: Hahn Airport's home page says Wizz Air connects Hahn with Prishtina from 14 December 2026, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Estimate: 14 December is a Monday, so the first flight from Hahn is likely Wednesday 16 December. Check the booking page.

Hamburg – Prishtina: Hamburg Airport announced (15 September 2026) that Wizz Air flies to Prishtina from 15 December, four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Eurowings and GP Aviation already fly the route, the airport says.

Basel-Mulhouse – Prishtina: daily from 16 November, the biggest of the new routes by frequency (Wizz Air, 29 July 2026).

Brussels Charleroi – Prishtina: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 17 November (Wizz Air, 29 July 2026). Wizz Air bases one Airbus A321neo at Prishtina from November to fly these routes.

London Luton – Prishtina: easyJet relaunches the route on 7 December, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (easyJet media centre, 23 July 2026). Wizz Air already flies Luton–Prishtina, so Luton will have two airlines on the route.

Malmö – Prishtina: Swedavia, which runs Malmö Airport, says Wizz Air starts on 15 December 2026, three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (15 September 2026).

Reported, not confirmed on an official page

Berlin – Prishtina: trade press reported in September that Wizz Air starts on 14 December, and in October that it will run twice a week instead of three times. We could not find this on a Wizz Air or Berlin Airport page we could open, so treat it as an Estimate until it shows on wizzair.com.

Fewer flights on the December routes: the same October report says Hahn, Hamburg and Malmö will run twice a week instead of four times. Hahn Airport's own page already shows two days a week; the Hamburg and Swedavia pages still show the original plan.

Trieste – Prishtina is reported from 19 December, twice a week with a winter pause. We have left it out of the table until an official page confirms it.

Tirana: one new winter route, two coming in 2027

Verified · checked on 26 Oct 2026

This winter: Cologne/Bonn – Tirana with Ryanair, flying since 25 October (above).

Spring 2027: Luxair says it will fly Luxembourg – Tirana all year from 29 March 2027, on Mondays and Fridays, the first direct link between the two countries (press release, 10 September 2026). Tirana Airport's news page says Canada's Air Transat returns to Tirana on 8 May 2027, with more flights in summer (posted 14 October 2026).

Left out: a reported Wizz Air Palermo – Tirana route. The airport's own site would not open for us on 26 October, so we could not confirm it.

Flying from the US or Canada

Unknown · checked on 26 Oct 2026

None of this winter's new routes starts in North America (Air Transat's Canada–Tirana flights return in May 2027, see above), and we found no new nonstop from the US to Prishtina or Tirana in the official airline and airport pages we checked on 26 October 2026. From the US you still change planes, usually in Istanbul or a European hub. A new European route can still help if you split your trip, for example flying to family in Germany or Switzerland first.

Before you book a brand-new route

New routes are the ones most likely to be retimed or trimmed before they start, as the December Wizz Air reports show. Book on the airline's own site, keep its emails, and check your flight again a week before. If a flight is cancelled or badly delayed, our claims pages explain what you can ask for.

Flying from a Schengen airport on a Kosovo, Albanian, US or Canadian passport? The EU's Entry/Exit System records your exit too. Our EES guide explains who it applies to.
